Isabelle has joined Sequoia Legal as a Summer Student for Summer 2026. She holds a bilingual Honours Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Ottawa in Conflict Studies and Human Rights with a minor in Indigenous Studies and she is currently continuing her studies at the University of Victoria in the Joint Degree in Common Law and Indigenous Legal Orders (J.D./J.I.D.) program, expecting to graduate in 2029.

Isabelle is Ojibway from Turtle Clan and a member of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg (formerly Ojibways of Pic River), located along the north shore of Lake Superior in northern Ontario, and was born and raised on unceded Lheidli T’enneh territory in Prince George, British Columbia.

As an undergraduate student, Isabelle completed three co-op terms in different sectors of Crown-Indigenous Relations & Northern Affairs Canada, working on modern treaty fiscal negotiations and implementation, and international Indigenous rights at the United Nations, where she attended the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) in New York City in both 2022 and 2023. Furthermore, she also completed two internships with the Metis National Council on intergovernmental and international relations and with the First Nations Major Projects Coalition. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she worked as an Assistant Researcher with Archipel Research & Consulting before beginning her law school journey. These professional opportunities allowed Isabelle to deepen her understanding of Indigenous rights and governance complexities and hone her research and advocacy skills.

Outside of the office, Isabelle enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and camping.
