Hannah West

Hannah West joined Sequoia Legal in October 2025. She holds a B.A. from the University of Victoria and a J.D. from the University of Toronto, where she completed specializations in both Environmental and Aboriginal Law. Her academic research explored the interrelation between Animal, Environmental, and Aboriginal Law through an analysis of the fish farming industry in British Columbia.

Hannah is called to the Bar in Ontario and British Columbia. Before joining Sequoia, Hannah articled with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, where she supported counsel in drafting environmental legislation and conducting environmental prosecutions. As a law student, Hannah was also involved with a number of International Human Rights cases that sought to defend Aboriginal and Environmental Rights.

Outside of her practice, Hannah can be found hiking, skiing, or biking and loves nothing more than being outside enjoying the beautiful natural world. Hannah is also a keen traveler and cook and enjoys creating new dishes inspired by her travels.
